Presented at UBS Gallery, Red Hook, New York, 2025,
as part of Double Take: Bard MFA Thesis Exhibition.
This work explores the speculative species, the Fermata Frog, which was born in the floodplains of the loading dock outside of the garage door of the UBS Gallery. The Gallery is located on a site that is both dangerous and flood-prone, which led to injuries of students and destruction of student work on-site in 2023. It imagines what a non-human creature might do to educate the public about the history of the space and intervene in the present. The gallery nearly flooded during the first few days exhibition was open, activating a performance and a sign posted outside educating the public about the species.
